Good health and well-being

Staying healthy: Our health management

Anyone who goes full throttle at JACOB should also be well looked after. For our health management, this means: prevention and support – with offers that really make a difference. From regular check-ups to benefits such as massages and e-bike leasing: we want our colleagues to stay healthy – and to work healthily.

That little bit extra: Our benefits

Our employees achieve great things every day – and we celebrate that. For example, with a working environment that is simply good for you. Because we think: a job should not only work, but also be fun. Benefits that really make a difference in everyday life – for life, health and genuine well-being.

A career with a tailwind – further education at JACOB

We don’t believe in standing still. Anyone who wants to develop further is given full support – with further training courses that are practical and really help you move forward. For us, personal growth and shared progress belong together.

All key figures shown apply to the year 2024.

Go to hard facts

Prevention means taking responsibility for yourself

Dr. med. Sven Kaese, specialist in prevention and cardiology

1
Why is prevention so important?

For me personally, the importance of health and prevention became clear early on: as a child, I was there when a family member suffered a serious, life-threatening emergency. This experience had a profound impact on me. Today I know: sudden events can affect anyone, but the risk can often be significantly reduced by prevention. Many illnesses creep in over a long period of time without you realising it. With targeted prevention, we can recognise risks at an early stage – and often counteract them with simple measures.

2
What is the JACOB prevention programme all about?

This is about more than just a check-up. In cooperation with our Institute for Preventive Medicine, we offer JACOB employees a comprehensive programme: with thorough examinations ranging from laboratory values to ultrasound checks, participants receive a personalised health strategy to help them stay fit and productive. Especially in economically challenging times, JACOB is demonstrating that the health of its employees is a top priority – because only healthy teams can succeed in the long term.

3
What are the differences in the prevention programme for office and manual jobs?

Let me start by saying: prevention is important for everyone – whether you work in an office or at a workbench. However, the stresses are different: In the office, a lot revolves around sitting for long periods, working at a computer screen and poor posture – so this includes ergonomic tips, exercise and regular eye checks. In the manual trades, it's more about backs, joints, accident risks and sometimes also dust or gases. The musculoskeletal system and lung checks are therefore more of a focus. But in the end what matters is: prevention has to match the job – and that's exactly what we look at in order to offer the right programme for everyone.

Stay healthy – just do it

Even simple changes to everyday habits can improve your physical and mental health. Here are three tips from the experts that are easy to implement:

Move!

Move!

Whether walking, climbing stairs or cycling – every movement counts. It is also recommended to train the large muscle groups at least two days a week.

Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Treat yourself, but in moderation: plenty of fruit and vegetables, low salt and sugar, and sufficient water give the body what it needs.

Get checked!

Get checked!

Regular check-ups help to recognise health risks at an early stage. Depending on age, these include, for example, skin cancer screening, colonoscopies and gender-specific examinations.

Straight from the horse's mouth – our employees about JACOB

For me, JACOB is: innovative, appreciative and future-orientated. I experience these values here not only on paper, but in my day-to-day work. That is exactly what motivates me to be part of this company.

Adrian Thiessen,

We’re not afraid to try things out. In IT, we test new technologies, take responsibility and contribute our ideas. So it never gets boring and you’re constantly developing.

Marcel Rohlfing,

I’m proud to lead a department as a team coach and to be able to make a difference together with my team. For me, that's a real sign of trust.

Jürgen Stenzel,
keeps on top of things when cutting and preparing the components, at JACOB since 1980

Over the last few decades, the company has developed from a small business into a solid medium-sized enterprise. This would certainly not have been possible without the courage to change and try out innovative ideas. I’m proud that I was able to play a part in this.

Sabine Schweiger,
ensures that our customers are completely satisfied with our products, at JACOB since 1987

JACOB was actually only a stopgap for me. But the team and the respectful approach won me over – and now I'm celebrating my 30th anniversary in 2025.

Sabine Frede,
makes sure that everything ends up in the right place in our warehouse, at JACOB since 1995
