Courageous, optimistic, realistic
We can't change the whole world, but we can try. With clear goals, fresh ideas and the courage to try new things, we are actively shaping our future. We want to evolve and break new ground.
Power from the sun – our photovoltaic system
Connected to the grid since mid-2025: the new photovoltaic system on the roof of our logistics centre. Instead of leaving the area unused, we use it to generate our own electricity. And a whole lot of it: with around 142,500 kilowatt hours per year, we cover 70 percent of our logistics centre's energy requirements. Pretty sunny prospects.
That’s how long we could illuminate the Kaiser Wilhelm monument in Porta Westfalica at night. Our new photovoltaic system generates around 142,500 kilowatt hours per year.
Just keep going
We’re not resting on our laurels. We have ambitious plans for the coming years.
By 2032, we want to make our production even more sustainable, digital and internationally efficient. For example, through green energy for powder systems and building heating, CO₂-reduced steel and a circular economy in production. We are driving intelligent production forward with smart sensor technology, digital twins and AR applications. At the same time, we are reducing our global carbon footprint – through local production directly in the target markets.
Outlook until 2050
We also have plans for the more distant future: by 2034, we want to reduce our emissions in Scopes 1 and 2 by 80 percent compared to 2020. By 2050, we will be climate-neutral – within the framework of market conditions, of course. Let's tackle it together!
Doubly important
As part of a double materiality analysis, from 2025 we will be taking a close look at which sustainability issues are particularly relevant to us – in other words, which ones affect our environment and society as well as being economically significant for JACOB. This is an important step towards further developing our measures in an even more targeted manner and starting where we can make the biggest difference.
