Systematic innovation – strengths that set us apart

When you think of modular pipe systems, you think of JACOB. Because we know our way around pipes. We have a comprehensive range of presses that combine the best of two worlds: robust, traditional technology and modern machines. In addition, we offer over 300 self-made tools for every conceivable forming process – plus plenty of trade expertise. The result is a technical advantage that makes us strong – and also impresses our customers every day.

Modular pipe systems

Modular pipe systems

While other pipe systems have to be specially welded together for each project, we rely on the modular principle. Our pipe parts can be connected easily and flexibly, thanks to JACOB’s typical lipped edge. Depending on the diameter, different connection solutions are used – from clamping rings to flange systems. This is quick, saves time and is much more efficient than custom products.

The JACOB pull ring system

The JACOB pull ring system

Our patented and easy-to-install Quick Connect pull ring systems with ring seals are the centrepiece of our modular pipe system. They provide a high degree of stability and tightness, and enable quick installation. Regardless of the area of application, we have the right pull ring for every situation.

Custom products

Custom products

Sometimes, you just need something very specific. If standard parts are not sufficient, our experienced teams are also happy to produce customised solutions that perfectly meet our customers' requirements. They remain fully compatible with the rest of our system.

Internal manufacturing expertise

Internal manufacturing expertise

We focus on in-house performance – with extensive production capacities, our own toolmaking and powerful machines. This means that we have the entire production process in our hands – from start to finish. This not only ensures speed, but also first-class quality.

Technological advances

Technological advances

Where steel meets high-tech: w work with modern technologies such as augmented reality, presses with servomotors, CAD integration and an AI-supported small parts warehouse. To this end, we launch new digital projects every year – all with the aim of becoming even more efficient and better.

Sustainability and efficiency

Sustainability and efficiency

We develop smart processes that save material and give efficiency a real boost. A good example: our JacBox mobile flanging machine, which we use to make it easy to assemble pipe connections on site. We are also currently working on an automated extraction system that thinks for itself: it should only switch on when really necessary – resulting in greater energy efficiency.

Customer-orientated development

Customer-orientated development

For us, innovation is not worked out in isolation – we get our customers involved. In regular workshops, we listen carefully, exchange ideas and develop new solutions together. This creates products that are really needed.

Thinking digitally – projects for the future

Everyone is talking about the fact that digitalisation in Germany is moving at snail's pace. That’s why we're really getting down to business digitally.

AI-supported weld seam detection

In production, we rely on modern AI-supported weld seam detection. While conventional systems usually only analyse a real-time image and incorrectly interpret scratches or unevenness as a seam edge, our solution goes one step further. The AI learns to distinguish relevant from irrelevant structures by continuously analysing images. It reliably recognises the actual joint edge between two components – and precisely adjusts the welding nozzle accordingly. This not only ensures clean results, but also greater efficiency and process safety in everyday life.

Paperless production

We are declaring war on piles of paper: instead of traditional order slips, we rely on process monitors. All orders are now processed digitally at 18 workstations – where they can be viewed, prioritised and ticked off. The assignment runs via a supervisor who can assign everything using drag and drop. Drawings are then also available directly on the screen. Saves paper, spares nerves – and moves us forward digitally.

Adrian explains: What exactly is flanging?

Adrian Thiessen, makes sure that JACOB is different tomorrow than it is today – and better

1
What is flanging anyway?

During flanging, the end of the pipe is formed to create a precise edge. The lipped edge ensures that two pipes can be connected with a perfect fit. The process is carried out using a special machine that shapes the edge so sharply that hardly any material sticks. The result: less air turbulence and more efficiency.

2
What makes the lipped edge from JACOB so special?

Our lipped edge is razor sharp. It improves the flow, facilitates the cleaning of pipes and thus saves time and effort. And the best thing: flanging only takes a few seconds.

3
Is flanging also possible on the go?

Yes – thanks to our JacBox. Originally designed at the customer's request, we now rent out four mobile flanging machines. Until now, flanging was done by hand with a hammer and a lot of muscle power. The JacBox makes work easier and faster. Mechanical engineering is not our core business, but when customers have a need, we deliver solutions – exactly where they are needed.

Simply amazing – amazingly simple.

Customer story

Through the blue glasses

PipeplannAR sets new standards when it comes to efficiency. Instead of planning back and forth for days on end, all it takes now is a short visit – everything is done in a few minutes, without expensive surveying equipment. Thanks to the real-time collision check, you can see immediately if there’s a clash – before it becomes a problem. Operation is super easy, no rocket science. And the best thing is: the parts list is created automatically. Planning done, components ordered – zip, done!

To the PipeplannAR

Error reduction: Real-time collision detection

Cost savings: No surveying equipment required

Compatibility: Files are CAD-compatible

Time savings: Planning in minutes instead of days

Easy to use: No CAD expertise required

Direct ordering: Automatic BOM creation

Happy to help: Our cobots

Cobots – these are our little helpers with great potential. Although they are slower than conventional robots, they can work alongside humans in a relaxed and safe manner – as a support, not a replacement. With their flexible arm, which can move in all directions, they support us in material handling and assembly by setting weld spots. They take over monotonous, repetitive tasks so that our human colleagues can concentrate on the essentials.

We currently have three helpers on duty. Of course, things didn't run entirely smoothly at the beginning – there was room for improvement in terms of the cobots’ performance. But after some fine-tuning by our team, they are now showing what they are made of: "Two of them assemble ready-to-use parts independently, giving our productivity a real boost. A third helps us to try out new processes," explains Lukas Beining, who helped train the cobots. Small robots, big impact!
